About us

The Queniborough Pre-School Partnership was established in 1997 and has been a long standing valued service for the Queniborough and local community.

Fees

A £20.00 registration fee is payable upon registration of your child in order to secure the  place, this will then be deducted from your first invoice.  If your child will be claiming the free funded hours only, this £20.00 will be returned upon your child starting at the Pre-School.

Fees are £4.90 per hour for 3-4 year olds and £5.40 for 2 year olds. All fees must still be paid if children are absent.

For your child to keep her/his place at the setting, you must pay the fees. We are in receipt of nursery education funding for two, three and four year olds; where funding is not received, then fees apply.

We also accept the childcare vouchers that employees can claim from their employers. If you are in receipt of Tax Credits you might be able to claim for your child’s care.

Funding Requirements

We receive Nursery Education Funding from Leicestershire County Council.  When your child reaches the age for funding, (please refer to the table) we will issue you with a Parents Statement of Undertaking (PSOU) for you to fill out.  This will enable your child to receive up to a maximum of 30 hours a week term time.

For further information, please read the ‘Information for Parents’ document that is given to you when your child is of eligible age.

You will also be required to supply the pre-school with a copy of your child’s Birth Certificate.

Consumables Fee

The funded early education entitlement (FEEE) government programme is paid by Leicestershire County Council and covers the educational childcare aspect of preschool.

The funding that we receive is not sufficient or intended to cover the additional costs that Preschool has to pay each month, for example consumables (nappies, wipes, hand towels, tissues, cleaning products, play dough, gloves, aprons, first aid items, training - this is not an exhaustive list) and snacks.  Therefore, a Consumables Fee has been introduced to help cover the unmet costs.

The rate of this fee will be £1.50 / day to ALL children (funded/non funded).

In compliance with our Provider Agreement, this charge must be Voluntary, although there is an expectation that it will be paid by all families; if you do not wish to/are unable to pay the voluntary fee, you will need to follow the Voluntary Consumables Policy and contact the Committee with your request to reduce or waive the fee.  You will be expected to supply relevant consumables for your child and in the event of these not being provided, you will be invoiced accordingly.

Admission Criteria

At present, the Village Hall has been approved for 34 children.  No children between the age of 2 and 5 years are refused a place at Pre-School unless we are up to our maximum numbers on the session required.  In that event we operate a waiting list, and as soon as a place becomes available you will be informed.

We apply an equal opportunities policy for admissions, according to the following criteria:

  • Children with brothers or sisters already admitted.
  • Children living in the Parish of Queniborough.
  • Children registered to attend the Queniborough Primary School.
  • Children with a brother or sister attending Queniborough Primary school.
  • Children whose diagnosed Special Educational Need indicates that a place in this particular pre-school would be especially appropriate.
  • Children whose brother and/or sister have previously been admitted.
  • Children living in areas with no pre-school provision.

Only where all other factors are equal will date of registration be taken into account. Any appeal must be made, in writing, to the Management Committee, whose decision will be final.
